The settlement is notable in that Mr. Hariharan had not actually contravened the insider trading provisions set out in Ontario's Securities Act , as the relevant issuer was not a reporting issuer in Ontario.

Power industry experts are challenging a Public Utilities Commission of Nevada legal memo issued this month that critiques a Las Vegas tech company for wanting to sever its ties with the main power supplier in the state, NV Energy. Switch, a tech company that runs one of the nation's leading data centers and counts among its customers an array of Fortune 1000 clients, applied to state regulators in November to generate and purchase power without the utility.
