Millicom CEO Albrecht steps down

(Telecompaper) Millicom CEO Hans-Holger Albrecht will be stepping down from year end. The CEO said he wants to develop a number of entrepreneurial projects and return to the media sector. The company's board of directors has started the search process for Albrecht's successor. CFO Tim Pennington will take on the role of interim CEO. He will ensure that key strategic initiatives and priorities for next year will continue to be executed. Albrecht will remain available to assist Pennington and the chairman during the transition and will continue as senior advisor to the chairman of the board as new businesses are built and new products and services are launched. Albrecht became president and CEO of Millicom on 1 November 2012.

Philip Falcone, once one of the world's most closely watched investors, is stepping down as chairman and chief executive of Harbinger Group Inc. ( Board member Joseph Steinberg will become chief executive at Harbinger Group, a publicly traded holding company, until a permanent replacement is found, the company said in a news release on Tuesday. Falcone will be paid $40.3 million for the work he has done at Harbinger Group.

Helge Lund, the CEO of Norwegian oil and gas company Statoil, has resigned after 10 years in charge of the government-controlled company. Until then he will remain at Statoil's "disposal" though the company said Wednesday that its board of directors had appointed Eldar Saetre, a senior Statoil executive, as acting president and CEO with immediate effect.

Bill Stiritz , 79, who has led Post Holdings through an aggressive strategy of acquisitions in the past roughly two years, is stepping down as chairman and CEO of Post Holdings. Stiritz had been in those roles since Post separated from Ralcorp Holdings Inc. in 2012.
