North Star Grand Prix bike race still in search of funding

The fate of the North Star Grand Prix -- the Twin Cities' elite pro bicycle race -- is still hanging in the balance. David LaPorte, executive director of the multi-day bicycle stage race and festival, said his volunteer organization has only nailed down about half of the sponsorship funds needed to keep the 16-year-old race going.
