AEP Energy To Build Solar Energy Center For Clyde, Ohio

AEP Energy, a subsidiary of American Electric Power, has partnered with the City of Clyde, Ohio, to design, build, own and operate a 3.6-megawatt solar energy array. The City of Clyde will purchase all the electricity generated by the solar panels to help meet the energy needs of the City's 3,000 municipal customers through a 20-year power purchase agreement.

Atlantic Coast Pipeline Asks FERC For Permission To Build $5 Billion Pipeline

The Atlantic Coast Pipeline formally filed its application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Friday in order to move forward with building the $5 billion natural gas pipeline. Dominion and its partners are proposing a 564-mile pipeline from West Virginia, through Augusta County in Virginia and into North Carolina.

Orange France to build LoRa-based national IoT network

(Telecompaper) Orange has announced plans to cover all of metropolitan France with a Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) network using LoRa (Long Range) technology as a supplement to its cellular infrastructure. The LoRa network will gradually open from the first quarter of 2016 to deliver guaranteed connectivity with a reduced energy consumption and lower costs. Orange tested the LoRa technology in a large scale trial in Grenoble involving more than 30 partners. The operator is targeting both mass market and business customers.

Waitrose bows out Waitrose has pulled out of plans to build a supermarket in Maldon.

In a shock announcement, the high-end supermarket chain will be replaced by discount retailers Aldi when the former Brooks Brothers site in the Causeway is redeveloped. In January, developer Aquila was joined by a Waitrose representative at a Maldon District Council meeting, where councillors approved the bid to create a 2.76-hectare shopping centre, including a supermarket and five stores, including Next, and a hotel.
