August is recognized as National Water Quality Month, and UN designated 2005–2015 as International Decade for Action "Water for Life" to inspire conservation and sustainability efforts worldwide. ANSI members and accredited standards developers have created standards and related documents providing guidance on such topics as drinking water treatment, water piping, and water analysis in order to help protect public health and welfare and provide safe, sufficient, and sustainable water.
