The Natural Resources Defense Council , a New York City-based non-profit group, argued that the FDA has failed to follow their own scientific evidence regarding the dangers of giving farm animals antibiotics.

A First Nation from British Columbia's North Coast says the Federal Court of Appeal has agreed to hear its legal challenge of the Northern Gateway pipeline project. The Gitxaala Nation filed the court action in July over a federal cabinet decision to approve the project that would link the Alberta oilsands with a marine terminal on the B.C. coast.

RTCC: The supreme court of India yesterday cancelled the licenses of 214 coal blocks, which it said the government had allocated illegally. The move grants a temporary reprieve to areas of the Mahan forest that were set to be felled to make way for an open cast coal mine. British-registered companies Essar and Hindalco had been granted permission to clear the area. It could also make domestic coal production more expensive in India, a country which is struggling to address energy shortages. But...
