(Telecompaper) Ericsson will acquire UK-headquartered media services company Red Bee Media from Macquarie Advanced Investment Partners, to pursue its strategy of growing in the broadcast services market. Ericsson will take on 1,500 broadcast service professionals, adding new operations in Europe and Australia. After completion, Ericsson will have over a third of its 4,000 employees in the UK working in broadcast services, helping TV channels and content owners address video-mobile convergence. The acquisition's value was not disclosed.
