WASDE pegs this years corn crop at a record-large 14.0 billion bu., 1% more than the previous forecast. That would make the crop a staggering 30% larger than last year. The season-average corn price was lowered 30 at both ends of the range to $4.10-$4.90/bu. read more

November 2013 WASDE, Crop Production reports confirm large corn, soybean crops

Source: University of Illinois The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has released new forecasts of the size of the 2013 corn and soybean crops. In addition, the USDA's World Agricultural Outlook Board released updated forecasts of the supply and consumption of those crops for the 2013-2014 marketing year. The reports contained no major surprises, confirming large crops, improved exports and prospects for larger year ending stocks and lower prices. read more

Source: U.S. Department of Agriculture U.S. corn growers remain on track for a record high 14.0 billion bushel production year, according to the Crop Production report, released today by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). In addition to corn numbers, the report also included updated forecasts for U.S. citrus production, and major field crops, such as soybeans and cotton. Based on administrative data, NASS revised the acreage planted to corn this season to 95.3 million acres, down 2% from the previous estimate. read more
