Facebook facing EUR 5 mln Italy fine for 'non-compliance'

(Telecompaper) Italian antitrust watchdog AGCM has launched proceedings against Facebook for its failure to comply with an earlier order regarding improper commercial practices in the social networking giant's methods of collecting and using personal data. In a statement, the agency said Facebook had not heeded its request to properly inform users about the collection and use, for commercial reasons, of the data they release and could be fined up to EUR 5 million for "non-compliance", as recently confirmed by the Regional Administrative Court of Lazio.
Disney+ to launch a week earlier in Europe at EUR 7 a month

(Telecompaper) The streaming service Disney+ will launch in markets across Western Europe on 24 March, one week earlier than the 31 March date it was initially slated for release. In a statement, Disney said the platform will be rolled out to the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland at a price of GBP 5.99/EUR 6.99 a month or GBP 59.99/EUR 69.99 a year. It will eventually come to Belgium, the Nordics and Portugal in summer 2020.
Dutch mobile operators fined EUR 13 mln for incorrect sales info on websites

(Telecompaper) Dutch telecom operators KPN, Tele2, T-Mobile and Vodafone have been fined a total of EUR 13.2 million for providing incomplete and incorrect information to customers on their websites. The consumer regulator ACM said the companies did not adhere to regulations requiring complete and correct information on their services offered for sale.
Iliad completes EUR 2 bln sale of mobile towers to Cellnex

(Telecompaper) Iliad has announced the completion of its deal with Spanish infrastructure operator Cellnex Telecom, unveiled on 07 May. The telecom group has sold 70 percent of the subsidiary managing its mobile towers in France and 100 percent of the company managing its passive infrastructure in Italy, receiving from Cellnex an initial cash consideration of EUR 2 billion.
Telefonica sells 2,029 towers in Ecuador and Colombia to Phoenix Tower for EUR 290 million

(Telecompaper) Telefonica has continued its strategy of monetising infrastructure assets by selling 2,029 towers in Ecuador and Colombia to Phoenix Tower International (PTI) for around EUR 290 million. In total, Telefonica Ecuador sold 1,408 towers for EUR 202 million while Telefonica Colombia sold a further 621 towers for EUR 87 million, complementing other tower disposals executed earlier in the year.
