Electric Propulsion Engineer

Mars Space is currently looking to hire Electric Propulsion Engineers to support its ongoing electric propulsion development activities. The engineer will be responsible for the design, modelling and testing of electric propulsion technologies and especially gridded ion engines and hollow cathodes. Specifically the following tasks are required Modelling of the plasma produced by ion engines and hollow cathodes Structural and thermal modelling of these devices Definition and execution of tests aimed at validating the models Design of thruster prototypes Testing of the thruster and evaluation of the experimental results Applicants require a University degree of Bachelor, Master or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or experimental Physics. The ideal candidate has A PhD in Aerospace engineering and at least one year experience working with electric propulsion or an MSc in Aerospace engineering at least 2 years experience with electric propulsion Knowledge of plasma physics. Familiarity with vacuum systems Good technical judgement and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. The salarty for this job will be negotiable depending on qualifications and experience of the candidate. We are looking for candiadtes able to start in less than two months but we might be able to wait slightly longer for very good candidates. Liquid Propulsion Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities In the frame of the Service Module Project for the ORION Crew Vehicle MPCV the Liquid Propulsion Department of Bremen is looking for a Propulsion engineer. The jobholder will contribute to the definition, the development and the qualification of the Propulsion Subsystem of the Service Module.
