Reporting to Senior AOCS Subsystem Engnieer, the AOCS Subystem Engineer provides support in design, development, integration and verification of the AOCS subsystem of satellite projects. Tasks Attitude and Orbit Control System AOCS subsystem engineering for satellite project In charge of the definition and development of the AOCS subsystem including definition of the verification philosophy on subsystem level and specification of test requirements In charge of all AOCS related project activities, ensuring technical quality as well as schedule and budget compliance on subsystem level Qualification Degree in engineering, space technology, physics or a comparable qualification 1 year of professional experience in space projects as AOCS subsystem engineer, AOCS project engineer or in a similar technical position AIT project experience would be of advantage Accustomed to work in teams Welldeveloped communication skills and excellent conceptual and analytical skills Fluency in the English language is required.

This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to work in the domain of satellite operations operations preparations, to start as soon as possible. Responsibilities Duties The candidate will be responsible for the generation of spacecraft user manuals and for streamlining the generation of system procedures for the satellite subsystems He or she will be in charge of the generation, review and validation of Flight Control Procedures. Qualifications Experience University or similar degree in aerospace, electronics or physics Minimum of 3 years experiences of satellite operations and preparation andor satellite AIV. Essential Skills Excellent knowledge of at least one of the following satellite subsystems On Board Data Handling Payload AOCS Electric Power Thermal Control Good knowledge of MOIS, SCOS, SC Simulators, SC functional models and SC Engineering models Familiarity with satellite security subsystems Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Ability to work autonomously according to high level guidelines Able to interface with technical and management personnel, proactive and confident personality Initially based in Bremen, this position requires relocation after 12 18 months to MunichGE or Fucino IT. The willingness to work abroad in a subsequent phase is an advantage. You must be eligible to live and work in the EU, the acquisition of a security clearance is mandatory for this position. Senior Engineer, Spacecraft Subsystem ADCSPropulsion Ref SES0257 Region Europe Location Luxembourg Betzdorf Company SES Category Space Engineering Position Staff Context The ADCS Propulsion section of the Satellite Engineering department is responsible for all aspects of the satellite attitude control and propulsion subsystems, and the onboard data handling and software related to those subsystems, across the SES fleet. You will provide expert level oncall support to the satellite operations control centers. You will contribute to, or lead, projects related to development and improvement of satellite inorbit operations, satellite procurement, satellite start of service activities and other new development opportunities within the Engineering department. Responsibilities You will provide attitude dynamics, control and propulsion expertise to nominal and contingency operations of the satellite fleet. You will support daytoday inorbit operations. You will develop andor validate nominal and contingency procedures and tools related to spacecraft operations You will provide oncall support, react to contingencies and cope with high stress situations for the attitude control and propulsion subsystems of the satellite fleet You will proactively monitor the ADCSPropulsion subsystem to identify degraded performance, anticipate scenarios and take appropriate action. You will develop and maintain tools for evaluating and trending health to maximize satellite safety, availability and longevity You will provide support to new satellite construction programs, including attending design reviews, satellite testing activities, mission rehearsals, orbit raising operations, inorbit testing, and contribute to start of service activities You will directly interface with external satellite manufacturers in relation to the responsibilities of the section You will support insurance and other external requestsreporting, including forecast of spacecraft capacity You will contribute to a continuous effort to more effectively and efficiently manage the satellite inorbit operations, including process, monitoring, and Ground Control System improvements You will continuously strive to be aware of relevant technological developments, their implementation, validation and verification, and provide input to the technical evaluation of future satellite proposals. Experience Qualifications A Masters Degree in Engineering, with a specialization which includes dynamics and control and or satellite propulsion is mandatory At least 7 2 years of applicable professional experience in satellite engineering andor operations is desired. Experience with GEO satellite engineering and operations would be considered an advantage A demonstrated ability to be a team player, take initiative, be proactive, be flexible, be reliable, take leadership and be decisive is essential Have strong analytical and problemsolving skills Strong computer software skills, with knowledge of at least one programming language. Proficiency with Matlab andor MS VBA would be considered an advantage Fluency in English, with strong communication skills, both written and oral.
