Common Starting Point For Phased Array Programs May Save Billions, Years Off Development
2013-03-01 05:11:12| rfglobalnet News Articles
Phased radio frequency (RF) arrays use numerous small antennas to steer RF beams without mechanical movement (think radar without a spinning dish). These electronics are invaluable for critical DoD applications such as radar, communications and electronic warfare.
ASTM Nondestructive Testing Standard Describes Testing for Phased Array Probes

Revolutionary new 2D optical phased array is packed onto a single, tiny chip
2013-01-16 19:50:50| Extremetech
Though radar is the more prevalent object detection system, the lesser-known ladar -- radar that uses lasers instead of radio frequencies -- produces a more detailed result. The problem though, is that current ladar equipment is too inefficient to bring ladar to the forefront. However, with DARPA's new new tiny 2D optical phased array, that could all change.
