Hawaiian Airlines has applied to the U.S. Department of Transportation to launch daily flights between the Kona Airport on Hawaii's Big Island and Japan's Tokyo International Airport at Haneda. Hawaiian Airlines has filed an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation for daily flight service between Tokyo International Airport at Haneda and Kona Airport on Hawaii's Big Island, starting on June 1, the Honolulu-based carrier said Monday.

The filing offers no details as to what GM's intention for the name is, other than "automobiles."
