You will join a team of GNCAOCS analysts to work on current and future space missions. The job includes the design, analysis and test support activities associated with the development of a GNCAOCS system for space applications. The department provides the GNCAOCS engineering design, analysis and support to a number of large ESA projects being conducted at Airbus DS Ltd. Stevenage, including Solar Orbiter observing the Suns heliosphere and solar wind, LISA Pathfinder paving the way for the LISA mission by testing in space the very concept of gravitational wave detection, PLATO detecting extrasolar planetary systems, and ExoMars Rover a mission to land and operate an autonomous rover vehicle on Mars. The department also leads a number of technology RD studies both internal and external in the areas of advanced GNC and robotics. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include You will be expected to perform GNCAOCS design and analysis activities through the full engineering lifecycle from initial concept design through to support to validation, producing the associated documentation design justifications, SW requirements for GNCAOCS algorithms, performance analysis documentation etc. and being able to develop SW to a prototype level nonreal time simulator development under CMatlab. The Challenge We seek a qualified engineer to be part of the flight control team providing spacecraft operations engineering services for the Galileo constellation of navigation spacecraft. This is a fulltime position collocated at or near the premises of our customer in Oberpfaffenhofen, near Munich. The work starts as soon as possible. The tasks to be performed are those typical for a spacecraft operations engineer, but with a focus on data handling operations. Typical spacecraft operations engineering tasks include requirement definition, preparing and validating flight control procedures, validating ground systems used for operations, participating in spacecraft interface tests, and spacecraft performance analysis. The Spacecraft Operations Engineer SOE is responsible for the support to the Sentinels missions as a member of the Flight Control Teams FCT during all the operational phases, including special operations, and will also participate to testing campaigns. The position will include the following tasks and responsibilities Validation, test and operation of the Simulator and of the Mission Control System including the OnBoard Software Maintenance OBSM and Mission Planning System. Generation, validation and maintenance of the Flight Operations Plan FOP of the Attitude and Orbit Control System AOCS satellite subsystem.
