Monitor and evaluate software product analyses, reports and technical notes. Prepare design tradeoffs, analyses and reports using metrics to support project decisions. Participate to software product evaluations and process assessments. Establish and maintain databases to track NCRs, RFWs, action items etc. as required Qualifications Experience Masters degree in software engineering or computer science with background on space engineering. Familiarity with space product assurance practices together with a good working knowledge of appropriate working tools. Practical experience in applying ECSS software standards. Knowledge and proven experience in the following areas Configuration management of complex systems. Software engineering and PA in critical applications. Essential Skills Agile practices e.g. Scrum Master Product Owner other Agile frameworks as SAFE, Lean or Kanban. Quality assurance for Machine Learning models. Big Data software architectures and life cycles. Data quality assurance. Cybersecurity assurance, security evaluation and certification, ISO27001. Handson experience with static code analysis and tools. Alternative software development life cycles, continuous integration and tools. Responsibilities You will be assigned to the AOCS GNC Sensors Unit, within the Directorate of Technical and Quality Management, as AOCSGNC Sensors Engineer and provide support for the development and procurement of sensors and actuators. The Sensors Unit is in charge of gyroscopes, accelerometers, star trackers, APS detectors for star trackers, sun sensors, magnetic sensors and actuators, and bespoke GNC sensors such as navigation cameras, 3D cameras or Lidars for GNC. The Unit operates a Sensors Lab, where technologies can be independently characterized, which is available to support these activities. You will be expected to provide regular technical reporting of the Hardware Development as well as contribute in the preparation and execution of project and technology studies reviews. The overall work package covers engineering support to the definition and implementation of AOCS for Earth Observation, Telecom, Navigation satellites and for Astronomy Observatories e.g. Sentinel series, Earth Care, MTG, Alphasat, Small GEO, Galileo, GAIA, Solar Orbiter. The functional support provided to these ESA projects includes Participation to project reviews SRR, PDR CDR, . AOCS design, analyses and simulations control loops design and modelling, FDIR, independent simulator setup, functional verification and performance budgets. Review of AOCS SW implementation. Sensors and actuators selection and procurement support. AIVAIT support test benches, review of test plans and test results. Operations support review of Operations Manual, rehearsal and LEOP.
