Sunny skies returned to the Aloha State, the day after a hurricane left Hawaii without inflicting much harm beyond heavy rain. While the main Hawaiian islands rode out the storm with no reports of any serious problems, the National Weather Service said Tropical Strom Ana has set her sights on small, remote islands that make up what's known as the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands.

Cash-rich Singapore Airlines Ltd is injecting up to $110 million to take control of loss-making affiliate Tiger Airways Ltd, shoring up the budget carrier while scrapping its regional ambitions as competition rages. Announcing a record quarterly loss that sent its shares tumbling as much as 10 percent, Tiger said on Friday that SIA will raise its stake to about 55 percent from 40 percent by converting existing securities into shares.

UPDATE 1-Winnebago rides on strong demand for motorhomes

Winnebago Industries Inc, the U.S. motorhome maker, reported a 22 percent jump in quarterly profit as sales surged due to increased consumer spending on big-ticket items. The company, whose recreational vehicles range in price from about $65,000 to more than $400,000, said it delivered 2,364 motorhomes in the quarter ended Aug. 30, up from 1,890 a year earlier.
