Monsanto's Climate Corp. sells insurance business

Monsanto's Climate Corp. said Friday it would sell its crop insurance business to AmTrust North America, a subsidiary of AmTrust Financial Services Inc. The agreement provides AmTrust, a multinational insurance holding company based in New York, exclusive access to Climate Corp. technologies that can be applied in the crop insurance industry for up to three years, Climate Corp. said. Climate Corp. said its carrier, OneBeacon Insurance Group, would work to achieve a smooth transition for CCCIB's customers.

Cisco quits set-top box market, sells business to Technicolor

After 10 years of making networked set-top boxes, Cisco Systems plans to quit the business, selling its Connected Devices division to French firm Technicolor, the companies said Thursday. Although Cisco will stop making video customer premises equipment for service providers, it will continue to develop software and cloud services to help telcos deliver IPTV and other video services to their customers, Cisco's business development director Hilton Romanski wrote in a blog post.

On June 12, Willbros closed the sale of its Louisiana-based downstream engineering services and its Oklahoma-based heater engineering services to a group led by Bernhard Capital Partners.

BP sells stake in CATS business to Antin for 324m

BP has agreed to sell its stake in the Central Area Transmission System (CATS) business in the UK North Sea for 324m ($486m) to Antin Infrastructure Partners, which already owns a majority interest in the business.
