HP just refreshed its Chromebook 11 back in May but it was more of a downgrade than anything else.
AppliedMicro's 64-core chip could spark off ARM core war
2014-08-13 15:28:18| InfoWorld: Top News
A decade-old race to crank up core counts in x86 chips may have lulled, but the competition has just started picking up in ARM processors. AppliedMicro, which is making 64-bit ARM processors, will put up to 64 cores in its upcoming X-Gene 3 server chip, said Gaurav Singh, vice president of engineering and product development at the company, during the Hot Chips conference in Cupertino, California.
Oracle's Sparc M7 chip to supercharge in-memory computing
2014-08-13 14:12:22| InfoWorld: Top News
Oracle has given the first peek at its upcoming Sparc M7 processor, promising big performance gains for customers who use the in-memory compute features of its 12C database. The Sparc M7 is due for release next year and will eventually be used in both high- and low-end Oracle Unix systems, including the M series and T series products, said John Fowler, executive vice president for Oracle's systems business.

Current Sense Chip Resistors feature Kelvin 4 wire connection.
2014-08-12 14:31:12| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today
Available in 0612 size, CSSK Series features all metal construction that withstands pulses and environmental stresses with minimal resistance shift. Units offer resistance values from 0.75–2 mΩ in 1%, 2%, and 5% tolerances. Low resistance values and terminations on long side of part handle high currents with relatively low self-induced heating for high efficiency. Applications include portable power management, portable test equipment, scanner, barcode readers, laptops, netbooks, and tablets. This story is related to the following:Chip Resistors |

Nvidia details 64-bit Denver Tegra K1, claims Haswell-class performance for first 64-bit Android chip
2014-08-12 13:38:57| Extremetech
Nvidia has finally taken the wraps off its 64-bit Denver CPU core -- and, well, let's just say that the 64-bit Android race just got a lot more interesting. The Denver CPU will be available later this year in the Tegra K1 SoC, where you'll get two Denver cores and a 192-core Kepler GPU. Nvidia says this will be the first 64-bit ARM chip for Android, and that it "completely outpaces" other ARM SoCs. The Denver CPU is so beastly that it even beats out some PC-class chips (the low-end Haswell Celeron), while consuming much less power. The secret behind this performance boost is a novel technology called Dynamic Code Optimization.
