Description The IT and Audio Visual Infrastructure Senior Technician will be assigned to support our customer, the European Space Agency, in the development, installation, maintenance and operations of the IT and Audio Visual infrastructure of one of its engineering facilities, including IT and communication hardware and software. Specific duties include Management and administration of the IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, multimedia and communication devices Maintenance and upgrade of the IT infrastructure core hardware, software, operating systems as well as installation an upgrading of the IT infrastructure and specific domain software applications to ensure the functionality and performance of the IT infrastructure Supporting the preparation of all IT infrastructure interdisciplinary activities including documentation, user manuals, database maintenance, security management, backup, configuration management, remote connections, user access to local and remote facilities Management of subcontractors and providers of services required by our customers organization including preparing, negotiating and monitoring service level agreements and maintenance contracts for all Audio Visual and IT equipment Supporting the development and evolution of the IT infrastructure, including identification, prototyping, procurement, and installation of new hardware and software tools, multimedia and communication devices Providing a technical point of contact for all items relating to hardware, audio visual and integration to support our customers partners, Industry and Academia in the design and implementation of their system, infrastructure and facilities Profile Applicants for this post should have a short cycle university education or equivalent qualification, together with a proven track record in delivering and supporting integrated IT and Audio Visual solutions in complex environments, ability to provide an effective helpdesk support, including troubleshooting users operating system and application problems. Applicants should preferably have knowledge of system, distributed and concurrent engineering methodology and experience in supporting infrastructures and related architectures. Possession of a Citrix administrator certificate would be an asset. The postholder is expected to demonstrate a good sense of customer orientation and strong analytical and problemsolving skills. Good spoken and written communication skills, including the ability to advise and train users in the operation of all equipment. Familiarity with the IT infrastructure of the European Space Agency will be an asset. Candidates should be able to work under pressure of frequent and tight deadlines and have the ability to establish and maintain working relations with people in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these two languages is required. Knowledge of another member state language is an asset.
