Infosys posts 5% net-profit rise, raises outlook

Infosys Ltd. on Tuesday reported a 5% rise in its net profit in the first quarter, driven by higher revenues from its traditional outsourcing services. India's second-largest software exporter by sales said net profit in the three months ended June 30 stood at 30.30 billion rupees , compared with 28.86 billion rupees a year earlier.

Infosys will provide IT services to US wellness firm

Global software major Infosys Ltd on Friday announced winning a five-year contract to provide a raft of IT services to the US-based wellness firm NBTY, formerly Nature's Bounty. "The multi-year deal envisages enterprise-wide application development and maintenance services for NBTY's IT landscape, including Oracle e-business suite and legacy systems," the IT outsourcing major said in a statement here.

US opens probe against TCS, Infosys for H1-B visa violations

The move by the United States Labour Department comes days after the NYT had reported that hundreds of employees at entertainment giant Walt Disney were laid off and replaced with Indians holding H1-B visas. The US government has opened an investigation against two of the biggest Indian outsourcing companies for possible violations of H1-B visa rules, according to a media report.
