Pending home sales strong

Pending home and condominium sales in Massachusetts were both up more than 30 percent in November from the same month last year, the Massachusetts Association of Realtors announced last week. The 4,456 single-family homes placed under agreement last month represent a 38.5 percent increase over the 3,218 of November 2014.

Springfield-Area Home Sales Down, but Realtors Remain Positive

The head of the Capital-Area Association of Realtors says she's not concerned by the fact that, after months of record-setting numbers, home sales for November were at their slowest pace since November of 2003. "The positive part of this is the price - the [medial] price is starting to go up, which is very exciting, with interest rates still being very low," says Kristie DeBrun, CAR president.

Third-quarter home sales lag in Jefferson County, climb in Lewis and St. Lawrence

Real estate agents sold fewer homes during the third quarter in Jefferson County than the same period a year ago, while sales climbed in Lewis and St. Lawrence counties. Lance M. Evans, executive officer of the Jefferson-Lewis Board of Realtors, said home sales have dropped in the third quarter and year to date in Jefferson County, where an influx of new apartment complexes in recent years has contributed to the trend.
