Wilmerding-based rail industry supplier Wabtec Corp. has acquired the assets of Track IQ, an Australian manufacturer of wayside sensor systems for the global train industry with annual sales of about $15 million. Office supplies retailer Staples Inc. has agreed with the Federal Trade Commission to extend the review period for its $6.3 billion takeover of Office Depot Inc. The regulator will decide on the deal by Dec. 8, the companies said.

Wabtec Acquires Track IQ, a Manufacturer of Wayside Sensor Systems

Wabtec Corporation has acquired the assets of Track IQ, a manufacturer of wayside sensor systems for the global rail industry, with annual sales of about $15 million. Track IQ's products use acoustic sensors on the tracks to monitor and measure the operating condition of bearings and wheels on freight and passenger rail vehicles.

During the 5th Expo 1520 International Fair of Railway Equipment and Technologies, RPC United Wagon Company and Wabtec Corporation , a global supplier of high-tech products for the rail industry, signed a 10-year supply agreement for export of freight car castings, the press service of RPC UWC informed. Under the agreement, beginning from 2016, UWC will supply to the US market car sets for manufacturing of Barber S2HD bogie .
