Pay TV subscribers in Portugal up 46.5 thousand in 3Q 2014

According to Portugals Autoridade Nacional de Comunicaçes (ANACOM), at the end of the 3rd quarter of 2014, there were about 3.29 million subscribers to subscription TV in Portugal, 46.5 thousand more than in the 2nd quarter.

Dos Santos launches bid for Portugal Telecom SGPS

The bid made by the daughter of Angola's president is intended to thwart the sale by Brazil's Oi Oi acquired the Portuguese telecoms assets through a merger with Portugal Telecom. Oi picks Altice for exclusive talks on PT Portugal sale

(Telecompaper) Altice announced that it has entered into an exclusivity agreement with Oi to negotiate the purchase of the Portuguese assets of Portugal Telecom. Altice's fully financed, binding offer values Portugal Telecom at an enterprise value of EUR 7.4 billion on a cash- and debt-free free basis, up from its initial offer of EUR 7.025 billion. The bid includes EUR 500 million based to future revenue generation of Portugal Telecom. The transaction, net of financial debt, accrued post-retirement liabilities and other purchase price adjustments, will be financed by new debt and existing cash from Altice. In the case of a final agreement, the transaction will require corporate approvals and will be subject to standard regulatory approval.

Telecoms group Altice SA has agreed to buy the Portuguese operations of Brazil's Grupo Oi for about 7.4 billion euro , it said in a statement on Sunday. "Altice announces that it has entered into an exclusivity agreement with Oi to agree the purchase of the Portuguese assets of Portugal Telecom," said the statement.
