RIL overtakes ONGC to become India's most profitable firm

Reliance Industries has overtaken state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corp to become the nation's most profitable company, posting a consolidated net profit of Rs 23,566 crore in the 2014-15 fiscal. ONGC, which posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 18,334 crore in 2014-15, slipped to number three, behind RIL and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, India's largest IT firm, according to earning data of listed firms available on the BSE.

RIL gas field investments depend on acceptable pricing: Niko

Reliance Industries' USD 10 billion investment in new fields off the east coast depends on the government approving acceptable gas price, its junior partner Niko Resources said. RIL has an array of natural gas discoveries in the Krishna Godavari basin KG-D6 block as well as NEC-25 area off the Odisha coast and it along with its partners BP plc of UK and Niko has detailed plans to bring them to production in the next few years.

Govt slaps $579 mn additional penalty on RIL
