CenturyLink started turning on its Prism TV service in some Denver neighborhoods Tuesday, hours after the city approved the company's cable TV franchise agreement. The Denver City Council approved a 10-year franchise agreement that lets the Monroe, Louisiana-based telecom launch its cable-like subscription TV service, which now competes with Comcast's cable offerings in the city.

The retiring chairman of Kroger, parent company of Dillon Stores, returned to where he got his start in the grocery business, the Dillons store at 1319 N. Main St. He visited with customers, thanked employees and even bagged groceries and loaded them into the car for Dianne Coons, an old family friend. His parents, Paul and Ruth Dillon, came to the store to witness the end of an era.
