Global pay TV market surpassed 900 million subscribers in 2013

The global pay-TV subscriber base increased over 5% in 2013, raising the total to 901.1 million. However the average revenue per user (ARPU) dropped slightly to $23.80 in 2013 from $24.10 in 2012, according to ABI Research.

According to Brazils Agncia Nacional de Telecomunicaçes (Anatel), the countrys pay TV subscriber base ended March 2014 at 18.41 million, with 388 thousand new subscribers being added in the quarter and 1.6 million over the preceding 12 months.

Montenegro adds 917 pay TV subscribers in 1Q 2014

Montenegro's Agency for Electronic Media has released subscriber figures for the pay TV operators in the country. As at March 31, 2014, the number of connections was 149,618, up 917 or 0.6% since December 2013.
