Google is hoping to appease developers that want better portability for their hosted apps by working with Red Hat on running App Engine in private clouds. The Google Cloud Platform team has been working with Red Hat's JBoss Application Server team to help create an alternate implementation of Google App Engine running on top of JBoss, said Google software engineer Ludovic Champenois in a blog post.
