According to a report in The Kansas City Star , Prairie Village, Kansas, could be the next Kansas City-area municipality to see the return of curbside glass recycling. A representative from Kansas City, Kansas-based Deffenbaugh Industries told city council that the company will begin a pilot project in October to collect glass at the curbside from approximately 200 homes in the Prairie Village neighborhoods of Normandy Square and Corinth Hills.

According to the notice distributed by county officials, the move comes after Pratt Industries, the company responsible for transporting Chatham's recyclables, has decided to no longer recycle glass items. The closest glass-recycling facilities are in Jacksonville and Atlanta, the county reports, making it logistically and financially burdensome for the company to transport glass products.
