Shaw to sell Global TV network, specialty channels to Corus for $2.65 billion

Shaw Communications is selling its media division to Corus Entertainment for $2.65 billion, a deal that will help fund the telecom company's purchase of Wind Mobile. Shaw Media includes the Global Television network and 19 specialty channels including HGTV Canada, Food Network Canada and Showcase, formerly part of the Canwest business group before it was split up.

Brewing giant Anheuser-Busch InBev NV is planning to sell roughly $30 billion in bonds Wednesday in a deal that would rank as the second largest on record, underscoring the strength of the corporate-debt market despite turmoil in certain sectors. Some investors and analysts say the company, which is buying rival SABMiller PLC for more than $100 billion, could ultimately sell about $55 billion in new bonds to help pay for the acquisition.
