An orthopedic surgeon facing criminal charges in two counties has settled a medical malpractice lawsuit filed against him for an undisclosed amount. A complaint filed last year in Lucas County Common Pleas Court by Ruth and Phillip Anderson of Ottawa Lake against Dr. Jake Heiney, 40, and his former practice, Cutting Edge Orthopaedics LLC, was dismissed last week.
