At long last, Apple's new, incredibly small Mac Pro is going on sale. From December 19 you'll be able to pick up an entry-level Mac Pro for $3000 (quad-core). The mid-range six-core model will set you back $4000. Pricing for the eight- and 12-core systems is not yet available, but a fully maxed out system -- with two FirePro graphics cards and 1TB of solid-state storage -- is expected to cost around $10,000.

The time for Linux gaming is finally almost upon us! Valve has confirmed that SteamOS will be released tomorrow, December 13. On the same day, 300 prototype Steam Machines and Controllers will be sent out to participants of the Steam Machine beta test. With sorrowful catch in its throat, Valve says that the hardware beta test will only take place in the US, due to the "regulatory hurdles" of sending prototype hardware out of the country -- everyone and anyone will be able to download SteamOS to make their own Steam Machine, however.

Traffic signal out on NE 82nd Avenue and Fremont Street through tomorrow after high voltage wire contacts signal span

The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that the traffic signal on NE 82nd Avenue and NE Fremont Street is non-functioning and being repaired after a Pacific Power high voltage line landed on the signal span today, destroying the signal circuitry.
