Working within a large, international organisation, the key candidate shall be part of the EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation EPSSG Science Support Team conducting satellite studies on the development of relevant products and algorithms to use in operational meteorology. This is an exciting and challenging role offering the key candidate the chance to provide scientific support to the programme, with specific responsibilities regarding the definition, development, implementation and evaluation of processing chains for the MicroWave Imaging MWI and Ice Cloud Imaging ICI instruments onboard the MetopSG satellites. Candidates shall require skillsexperience in each of the following areas Proven experience with scientific satellite applications software and scientific development projects. Professional experience in microwave remote sensing and the process of meteorological satellite data Strong knowledge of analysis, synthesis and presentation Knowledge of radiative transfer, physical remote sensing, and the processing of meteorological satellite data The successful candidate shall have good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team, they shall also have good project management skills.
