A Marengo County car dealer is suing Volkswagen, alleging that its law-evading diesel engines caused the dealer to incur increased expenses and "a loss of goodwill" in the diesel vehicle marketplace. Windom Motor Company, a Chevrolet and Buick dealer in Demopolis, filed the lawsuit on Dec. 23 in the U.S. District Court in Selma.

Consumer advocate groups on Monday called upon Attorney General Maura Healey to investigate used car dealer CarMax, claiming that the dealer has sold recalled vehicles to drivers in Massachusetts. The MASSPIRG Education Fund and the Consumers for Auto Reliability and Safety Foundation on Monday reported a joint investigation found that 17 percent of the cars available for purchase at CarMax's North Attleborough dealership were subject to at least one federal safety recall that had not been addressed.

Dec 11 Auto dealership China Grand Automotive Services purchased a controlling stake in luxury car dealer Baoxin Auto Group for HK$8.2 billion , Baoxin disclosed to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Friday. Baoxin said China Grand paid HK$5.99 per share to buy a 53.6 percent stake with the purchase occurring on Dec. 4. Baoxin shares closed at HK$4.15 last week before trading was halted on Monday.
