She described the vehicle as her "first love," according to a statement Monday from Allstate Corp., the insurer that worked with government officials and a car dealer to trace the Corvette's past.

Longtime Ohio Chevrolet dealer and Corvette Hall of Famer Bob McDorman passed away Wednesday at the age of 82 after a brief illness, but he left the world a better place, thanks to his philanthropic work in his hometown of Canal Winchester. McDorman ran a Chevy dealership in Canal Winchester for 46 years, beginning in 1965, before selling out to Jeff Wyler Automotive Family in 2011.

It's not every day that the Bowling Green Assembly Plant receives an order to make a car for the company CEO, but this week the workers from UAW Local 2164 assembled a 2015 Black Corvette Z06 Convertible that will be shipped to GM's headquarters in Detroit for General Motors Chief Executive Officer Mary Barra. Mary took the reins at GM in January 2014 just in time for the North American International Auto Show, and coincidentally, the launch of the C7 Corvette Z06.
