A final agreement of the Trans-Pacific Partnership has been reached among the 12 participating countries, and I see the agreement to be a positive to the Japanese automakers with the loosening of the local content requirement. Relative to the Korean automakers, the Japanese automakers have a slight competitive disadvantage given the tariff reduction within the US-Korea bilateral free trade agreement, but long-term implication should continue to be supportive of the Japanese automakers.
