Our client EUMETSAT seek a Configuration Management Consultant with at least 5 years experience conducting and implementing Configuration and Management of large scale, softwarecentred systems in an operational environment, preferably highavailability 247 systems such as processingproduction chains, data centres or satellite systems. You will be placed on assignment based in Darmstadt Germany for several years. The starting time requirement is as soon as possible. EUMETSAT is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. Vast quantities of data are produced and user communities throughout the world are able to access both current and historical data sets. The demanding realtime environment places much emphasis on adherence to quality and configuration management standards and procedures. The key experience and attributes sought are Proven significant knowledge and experience in specifying, reviewing and implementing Configuration Management plans, processes and working practices, or at least extensive experience in providing management support to programmes or projects in development Significant experience in project development methodologies, and in particular in configuration management including the definition or review of upstream source code configuration management requirements, control of configuration evolutions of systems software, hardware, databases, satellite and ground system procedures, documents, media, COTS software and COTS Licences, up to the testing and deployment of new releases on configuration controlled environments Extensive knowledge and experience with configuration management tools e.g. Serena Dimensions CM, Jira or Clearcase or business process management tools electronic workflows Experience of software development on a medium or large size project Extensive knowledge and experience with process modelling tools and techniques Extensive knowledge and experience of a Configuration Management, Quality Assurance or Project Management standard e.g. ISO, ANSI, ECSS, CMMI Proven experience in planning, developing and implementing training sessions andor coaching sessions to users and stakeholders Candidates should possess a University degree or equivalent. Your Tasks Include The Key Person will be integrated within the Information Management and Configuration Management Competence Area of the Process Assurance and Management Support Division PRS. Experience in Quality Assurance, space system project control andor process modelling of largescale systems with a very good understanding of project development life cycle methodologies would be considered, providing that adequate knowledge and involvement in Configuration Management activities is also demonstrated.
