Energy Department to Participate in Clean Line project.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz Announced that Department of Energy (DOE) will participate in developing Plains & Eastern Clean Line Project (Clean Line), which will tap wind generation resources in Oklahoma and Texas panhandle regions to deliver up to 4,000 MW of power via 705 mile direct current transmission line. This makes first use of Congressional authority conferred to DOE as part of Section 1222 of Energy Policy Act of 2005 with objective of promoting transmission development.

FBI And Justice Department Probing Huge International Bribery Scandal

The FBI, U.S. Department of Justice and anti-corruption police in Britain and Australia have launched a joint investigation into revelations of a massive global bribery racket in the oil industry. The biggest leak of confidential files in the history of the oil industry also unveils rampant corruption inside Italian oil giant Eni in many of the countries in which the firm has been contracted by national governments to manage their oilfields.

Energy Department Announces Funding for national lab HPC access.

Offered via High Performance Computing for Manufacturing (HPC4Mfg) program, up to $3 million in funding lets manufacturers use resources at Energy Department's national laboratories. HPC will be used to apply modeling, simulation, and data analysis to address manufacturing challenges that aid in decision-making, optimize processes/design, improve quality, predict performance/failure, quicken/eliminate testing, or shorten time of adoption of new technologies. Applications are due April 21, 2016.

Health Department Reaches Agreement With U.S. Steel Corporation

PITTSBURGH - The Allegheny County Health Department announced Friday that they have come to an agreement with the United States Steel Corporation. The agreement stems from U.S. Steel failing to meet commitments made to the county as part of efforts to reduce air emissions at Clairton Coke Works.
