The objectives of LuxGovSat are the acquisition, the launch and the operation of a satellite for the provision of governmental and defence communication services. The new satellite, GovSat1, will bring new capacity in governmental frequency bands and feature security capabilities with steerable highpowered spot beams. In a unique PublicPrivate Venture, it will ensure the security, reliability and flexibility for the everchanging missions of governments and institutions in the security, defence and civil areas. The launch of the satellite is scheduled for the second quarter of 2017. The spacecraft will be positioned at the orbital position 21.5 degrees East and will cover Europe, the Middle East and Africa. GovSat1 will help Luxembourg to meet its obligations in European and NATO defence and will address the requirements of other governments and institutions, in particular the EU and NATO member states and agencies, as well as the UN. The VicePresident, Governmental Satellite Communications is directly responsible to the CEO of LuxGovSat S.A. HeShe is expert in contracting Satellite Communications SATCOM services and solutions to governmental and institutional users and plays a key role in positioning LuxGovSat as a leading player in the GOVSATCOM valuechain. The VicePresident is responsible to achieve and develop the planned revenues by establishing and developing customer accounts and business. This position will direct the go to market plan and be in charge of the lead to order process. The position will also be responsible for a Senior Manager, Governmental Satellite Communications. Shaw Communications buying Wind Mobile in deal valued at $1.6 billion

Shaw Communications is making its long-anticipated foray into the wireless business by picking up Wind Mobile for $1.6 billion. The Calgary-based telecommunications company says it will acquire the country's fourth-largest mobile operator by subscribers, pending a number of regulatory approvals, including the Competition Bureau and the Ministry of Innovation, Science & Economic Development.
