Pet products retailer Petco is launching an on-demand delivery service in partnership with Instacart that it says can deliver products to customers in as little as one hour. The service, PetcoNow , is available in Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Boston; Boulder, Colo.; Chicago; Denver; Houston; Los Angeles; Miami; Philadelphia; Portland, Ore.; San Francisco; Seattle and Washington D.C. Miami will be added to the delivery area on June 23 and Chicago on June 30. San Diego-based Petco said the service provides customers with a selection of roughly 13,000 products, including food, treats, toys and supplies for pets ranging from dogs and cats to fish and birds.

United Parcel Service on Wednesday said it is launching a service which will boost e-commerce profitability by cutting down on delivery stops, allowing customers to pick up their packages at dry cleaners, convenience stores and pharmacies. Called "Access Point," it is designed for people who work, as well as those who live in big cities, where packages left on doorsteps could be stolen.
