Nautic Africa signs deal with Citrans to build ferries for the Ivory Coast

South African shipbuilder Nautic Africa has entered an agreement worth ZAR347m ($22m) with transportation company Citrans to build the first set of ferries in a series of 18 vessels for the Ivory Coast, Cote d'Ivoire.

Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd said on Wednesday it is looking at all legal options in response to what it described as concerted efforts by certain U.S. railroads to block its proposed merger with Norfolk Southern Corp. "It is unfortunate that CP must consider the use of litigation to ensure a level playing field and protect its rights," CP, Canada's second largest railroad, said in a statement. CP's $28 billion plan to buy Norfolk Southern has garnered support from more than 80 shippers, but is being opposed by Norfolk Southern and a number of industry groups and other rail customers.

Katz Group selling Rexall Health, with 470 retail pharmacies, in $3-billion deal

The Edmonton-based Katz Group has agreed to sell the Rexall Health drugstore chain, including its 470 retail pharmacies, in a C$3-billion deal with U.S. health care company McKesson. McKesson says the friendly deal is the next natural step to take in the relationship between the two companies, which have worked together for 20 years.

Shareholder groups say Mylan deal requires vote; Kraft Heinz going to cage-free eggs

Two shareholder rights groups in Europe are challenging Mylan's pending acquisition of Swedish drug company Meda AB, saying the $9.9 billion deal announced Feb. 10 first needs to be approved by Mylan's shareholders. In a letter last week, the Dutch Investors' Association and the European Investors' Association contended Dutch law required the transaction be put to a vote.
