AIA supports FAA's proposed UAS regulations.

According to AIA President and CEO Marion C. Blakey, FAA has taken an important step towards integration of UAS into civil airspace by issuing draft regulations for use of small unmanned aircraft systems. Issuance of these proposed regulations is a key element of government and industry efforts to foster safe operations in both civil and military applications of remotely piloted aircraft while further encouraging research and development of UAS technologies.

AIA Congratulates Ashton Carter on Defense Secretary confirmation.

AIA congratulated Dr. Ashton "Ash" Carter on being confirmed by U.S. Senate to succeed Defense Secretary Charles "Chuck" Hagel. In comment, AIA President and CEO Marion C. Blakey said Carter's "extensive experience" will be suitably applied as U.S. "addresses critical decisions on national defense, the support of our armed forces and the men and women who serve." Speaking for aerospace and defense industry, Blakey also expressed anticipation for working closely with Carter.
