Congressional Republicans are starting to line up in opposition to new net-neutrality rules supported by the Obama administration, contending that the effort to classify internet providers as utilities is a regulatory overreach and will stifle innovation, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. The president has called on the Federal Communications Commission to impose rules that protect net neutrality and force those providers to treat all internet traffic equally instead of, say, charging some content providers for faster traffic.
