Program will address topics relevant for biopharmaceutical industry and related sectors. Upon review, qualified speakers will be considered to fill remaining slots in their knowledge area. This Call for Sessions is open September 17 through October 15.

PG&E seeks to have some charges dismissed in San Bruno explosion

PG&E formally asked a federal judge on Monday to dismiss eight criminal charges against it for causing a fatal explosion in San Bruno, but government prosecutors countered during a court hearing they will prove that the embattled utility deliberately broke an array of laws in the case. After a court hearing in San Francisco, San Bruno City Manager Connie Jackson said she's confident the government will prove its criminal case against PG&E and that she was dismayed by the utility's efforts to get all charges tossed out in the case.

Give and Go Prepared Foods Corp, a Canadian maker of thaw-and-serve sweet baked goods such as Two-Bite Brownies, is exploring a sale it hopes could value it at around C$550 million , according to people familiar with the matter. The Toronto based-company's owner, OMERS Private Equity, the buyout arm of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System, has held talks with investment banks in recent weeks to appoint a financial adviser to run an auction or initial public offering for the company, the people said.
