Making their way out of the Queen City of the Great Lakes Intrepid Travelers landed at Albany's Parish Public House recently. Featuring drummer Jon Fohl , bassist David Neimanis , keyboardist Donny Frauenhofer and guitarist Brian Calisto , the band rolled through some impressive hybrid jam, spreading on layers of funk, jazz, rock, laced with a shot or two of psychedelia.

The Department of Environmental Quality will be "flowing" through the Breaux Bridge Courtroom at 6 PM to educate St. Martin Parish about their drinking water protection campaign. The DEQ is opening up its doors to potential volunteers to serve on the committee and to work with the community to create a sustainable drinking water protection program.

The Tangipahoa Parish Council, on a split vote following sometimes contentions discussion, agreed Monday to hire an attorney in the matter involving the use of shredded tire material at the parish landfill. Parish President Gordon Burgess was notified by state Department of Environmental Quality on June 12 that the parish could be found liable for the misapplication of the recycled tire material at a firing range under construction at the landfill and on berms and levees at the site.
