European H2020 5GPPP Project XHAUL Kicks Off

InterDigital, Inc., a mobile technology research and development company, today announced that the European H2020 5G Public Private Partnership infrastructure project, XHAUL, commenced on July 1, 2015. A European Union 5GPPP consortium has begun work, which will stretch over a projected 30-month period, to develop a 5G integrated backhaul and fronthaul transport network, with the goal to flexibly and dynamically interconnect the 5G radio access and core network functions.

European car sales to rise 5%

The European Car Association has changed its previous prediction of 2% growth for the car sales in Europe up to 5% in 2015 vehicles to be sold, amounting to 13 million cars due to be purchased in the midst of an economic recovery. Since 2007 when the financial crisis began, it was not until last year that the first increase in car sales was registered, up to 13.6 million passenger cars being sold in Europe.
