HTC posts Q3 loss, sales down more than expected

(Telecompaper) HTC recorded a net loss of TWD 2.97 billion for the third quarter, on revenues down to TWD 47.05 billion. The operating loss was TWD 3.50 billion. The smartphone maker showed a small improvement in sales in September, which rose 38 percent from the previous month to TWD 18.15 billion. Overall, quarterly sales were still less than the TWD 50-60 billion predicted by the company and TWD 70.7 billion in the second quarter. HTC will release a full quarterly report later this month.
