Helen of Troy Corp.'s third-quarter profit jumped nearly 48%, driven by stronger-than-expected sales, though the maker of Hot Tools hair stylers and Brut aftershave reported a drop in sales in its personal-care segment. For the year that ends Feb. 28, the company now expects to make $5.33 to $5.47 a share on sales of $1.39 billion to $1.42 billion, including results from its Healthy Directions acquisition, up from its previous projection of $4.87 to $5.01 a share on $1.38 billion to $1.41 billion in sales.
