Hawaiian Airlines reported the most on-time flight arrivals among domestic carriers in August 2014, with 94 percent of flights on schedule, according to the latest Air Travel Consumer Report released by the U.S. Department of Transportation . On time means flights are no more than 15 minutes after a scheduled arrival or departure time, and cancelled and diverted flights are not considered on time.

Spirit Airlines cuts Q3 outlook, shares dip

According to regulatory filings, the decreased outlook is the result of an underpayment of federal excise taxes on fuel it bought in July 2009 through August 2014, which the airline was recently made aware of.
