BIO applauds unanimous Senate passage of the Adding Ebola to the FDA Priority Review Voucher Program Act. Bill would add Ebola to FDA's priority review voucher program, under which developers of vaccine or treatment for a qualifying tropical disease receive voucher for FDA priority review for another product of choice, or sold to another developer. If passed into law, act would provide companies with extremely valuable regulatory incentive to develop Ebola vaccines and treatments.

The U.S. Senate has confirmed two nominees to serve on the board of the Tennessee Valley Authority, the nation's largest public utility. MANILA The Senate has approved the budget to set up more than 50,000 free WiFi spots nationwide to boost education and help connect the public to information via the internet. Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto said the Senate Finance committee has recommended to increase next year's budget of the Department of Science and Technology's Public Wi-Fi Program from P338 million to P3 billion.
