Xiaomi officially unveils Spanish stores, product range

(Telecompaper) Chinese brand Xiaomi has announced the official launch of its product range in Spain to be followed this weekend by its first bricks and mortar stores in the country. The company's flagship Mi Mix 2 smartphone will be available for EUR 499 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage version, with the Android One-powered Mi A1 costing EUR 229 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model. Other handsets available will include the Redmi 4A and 4X, the Redmi Note 4, 5A and 5A Prime as well as the Mi 6. Xiaomi will also be selling a full portfolio of accessories and peripherals, including devices from its Mi Ecoystem range, including the Mi Box 4K Android set-top box, Mi Action Camera 4K, Mi Electric Scooter and Mi Band 2.

Amazon unveils basic Fire TV stick for new video markets

(Telecompaper) Amazon has unveiled a new low-cost streaming stick to support access to its Prime Video service around the world. The Fire TV Stick Basic Edition is available in more than 100 countries, including Canada, France, Italy and Spain. Customers can set their default language as Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, Italian, German or English.

Vodafone unveils 'V by Vodafone' consumer IoT system and product range

(Telecompaper) Vodafone has announced the launch of a new consumer-oriented Internet of Things (IoT) platform called "V by Vodafone". The company said there will be more than 370 million consumer electronics and smart home devices in the countries in which it operates by 2020, up from around 50 million today, and its strategy is to connect those devices to its global IoT network. The "V by Vodafone" product range already includes a connected car dongle (V-Car), a 4G security camera (V-Camera), a pet location and activity tracker (V-Pet) and a bag location tracker (V-Bag).
